No, they are J. Michael Straczynski’s words, from the non-canon Superman: Earth One. If Clark was the mask, why would he NEED Clark? Bruce Wayne is necessary for Batman to do his work… If Clark Kent is just a mask, then what purpose does he serve? John Byrne’s Man of Steel > J. Michael Straczynski’s Superman: Earth One
